Efforts to pull the grounded Nu Shi Nalini, which is loaded with naphtha, is presently underway off the Dona Paula coast.

Highly placed sources in MPT informed The Goan that the second tug, which was awaited, has arrived at the site of the grounded ship.

“There are presently two tugs ‘Water Lily’ and ‘Ocean Spirit’ engaged with the ship and efforts are on to pull the ship off the Dona Paula coast. As per information, the vessel has been most likely refloated and can be pulled during high tide sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning,” said the source

“One tug was tied to the ship on Monday, while the other arrived early morning on Tuesday. Both tugs are presently pulling the ship from the area.”

“If all goes well, the vessel could be pulled out by Tuesday night or Wednesday and likely to find its way back to MPT and be stationed at Berth 8. The next course of removal of the Naptha would be taken at a later stage, but primarily efforts are on to move the ship,” the source added.
