The former ally of BJP has decided to go alone in the zilla panchayat election but the party which had once ruled Goa has restricted itself to contest in 20 constituencies only.

“We have finalised to contest ZP elections on 20 seats. The committee will declare the candidate list on Saturday”, informed MGP leader Sudin Dhavlikar.

“The party will start its campaign from Sunday by offering prayers to Mahalasa deity in Mardol temple”, said Dhavlikar.

On a tie up with the Congress and an independent legislator, Dhavlikar said, “Congress and independents have approached MGP... the party will decide”.

Dhavlikar also demanded a thorough investigation into the death of former MGP leader Prakash Naik from Merces.

He reiterated his demand for a white paper on the Mhadei issue saying “With the white paper the people will at least know the present state of work that has been carried out by Karnataka illegally”.
