As part of ‘Bharat Parv’ on the occasion of Republic Day, a number of activities are planned by Goa Naval Area showcasing the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’. Commencing with the Republic Day parade at SAG Ground, Campal, Panaji -- multiple activities including Mini Marathon, Walkathon and Cyclothon are being organised within Goa Naval Area.

The week-long Bharat Parv celebration will be culminating with TriGoa-Navy Duathlon at INS Hansa on February 2, 2020. This event is open for public participation and comprises of a 5 km run and 20 km cycling followed by another 2.5 km run. The event will be flagged off by Rear Admiral Philipose George Pynumootil, Flag Officer Commanding Goa Naval Area.

The highlight of 2020 edition of the Duathlon is that the same is being held at INS Hansa. Civilians and Members of the Armed Forces will participate and compete together in the event, which will be followed by breakfast at the finishing point. During the event, the Indian Naval Band will be in attendance to enthral and encourage the participants.

Elaborate arrangements have been made by INS Hansa and triGoa to offer a safe and memorable Duathlon for all the participants.

Registrations for the event closes on January 28, 2020.

TriGoa organizes the Duathlon annually with separate editions for adults and kids -- the TriGoa Duathlon-kids edition will be held on April 19, 2020.

TriGoa was founded in 2013 by fitness enthusiast & Super Randonneur Rajesh Malhotra to promote cycling, running & swimming in Goa. TriGoa is an affiliate club of Audax India Randonneurs (AIR) and Audax Club Parisien (ACP), France and conducts self-sufficient, time-controlled bicycle endurance rides of 200 km, 300 km, 400 km, 600 km, 1000km & 1200 km to be completed within 13.5 hrs, 20 hrs, 27 hrs, 40 hrs, 75 hrs &  90 hrs respectively.
