A unique fashion pop-up titled PoSRo which will be held on December 8 and 9 at Taj Vivanta in Panaji, will showcase a host of new age, sustainable, organic and environmentally conscious fashion and accessory labels for the first time in Goa.

These include The Temple House, a label promoted by former supermodel and spiritualist Rhea Pillai, Soham Dave’s sustainable range, Leena and Tahira’s ensemble and more than thirty other innovative and conscious brands.

Rhea Pillai
Rhea Pillai’s label, The Temple House is a salute to all things that are celebratory and reverential. “In keeping with the need of the hour and with an eye on the pulse of the environment as well as individual comfort, I work with fabrics that are natural and organic. It allows the skin to breathe, often has medical benefits, is kind to the environment and wears like a dream,” says Pillai who has taught the Art of Living techniques to close to 20,000 people over the last two decades.
The highlight of Pillai’s label is the raw material used to put together the products, which is drawn from lotus stems, rose petals, hemp seeds, organic cotton, modal, bamboo, milk, orange, eucalyptus and other natural products.Temple House aims to create a line of clothing that is fun, comfortable, eco-friendly and great to look at. In keeping with the need of the hour ,to have an eye on the pulse of environment as well as individual comfort Rhea works with fabrics that are natural and organic. It allows the skin to breathe, often has medical benefits, is kind to the environment and wears like a dream.

Soham Dave
Soham Dave’s latest line Zari, is summarised by a joyous mingle of the gold and silver, which generates a rare sense of beauty with a radiant sheen. “Zari offers minimalist lifestyle products for the conscious urban consumer with emphasis on Indian rooted textiles. This year, the brand has forayed into especially handwoven cloth from Bengal,” Dave said.
For Soham, Sustainability is not just a word, it’s a lifestyle. A qualified electrical engineer, Soham refuses to use electricity and machinery while producing his clothing. From printing with wooden blocks, applying resist on the fabrics, de-sizing the fabric with cow dung, boiling and dyeing the fabrics using natural ingredients and extracts, and drying them in the fields under the sun – there is no electricity used in the entire process. Soham used to visit his grandparents on their farm and observe how the villagers were in sync with nature. Things were recycled and upcycled and that fascinated him. He is now incorporating those facets in his design. Soham’s style is minimal. The ease of the final product is what’s crucial. The garments are comfortable and easy to wear besides being light on the pocket as well.

Studio Medium by
Riddhi Jain
A textile design studio based in New Delhi and founded by Riddhi Jain, Sudio Medium works within the disciplines of apparel and textile art using techniques in natural vegetable dyes, resist-dyeing and azo free dyes.
Naturally dyed in Indigo, the foundation of this range is set on the philosophies of zero waste pattern making, allowing every inch of the fabric, including the selvedge, to be used as a detail.
For her final year project at NIFT Riddhi utilised the thread waste that is left after the tie-and-dye process. These colourful threads that are used to sew and tie fabric while dyeing is discarded in resist-dyeing workshops. She developed chunks of these fuzzy threads as textiles for her graduation presentation. Studio Medium’s range of androgynous, free-form clothing is not tied to seasons or defined by a certain period of time. They are timeless and hold on to their own aesthetics.
