The Aam Aadmi Party took on Waste Management Minister Michael Lobo and sought to know his own identity in the wake of him terming OCIs and NRIs of Goan origin as ‘non-Goans’.

AAP NRI cell leader Salvador Fernandes demanded an apology from Lobo for his ‘caustic’ remarks and exhorted people from his constituency to teach him a lesson by sending him home.

Salvador said that it is due to people like Michael and the 40 MLAs that youth are forced to migrate in search of jobs.

“Michael should show if he has any plan to employ us giving even a meagre salary of Rs 30000-40000. I will be the first one to return. Michael should accept the challenge,” he said

Meanwhile, AAP Convenor Elvis Gomes when asked informed telephonically that such talk against our own brethren shows that the government has run out of ideas.

“These utterances Michael Lobo are the same as calling them toilet cleaners. OCIs are forever Goans and they don’t require Michael’s certificate to decide that. Government has not delivered anything to people in the last three years. So calling Goans that have gone abroad as non-Goans is to deflect attention from their failures,” said Gomes.
