Panjim RCC swimmers shine at Lotlikar swimming competition

The swimmers of Panjim RCC represented by Sagar Patil,  Rahul Patil,  Kshitij Kalangutkar,  Ripudaman Singh Shekhawat, Zach Furtado, Niranjani Borde and Aarohi Borde excelled at 15th All India Suhasini R Lotlikar Swimming Competition, organised by Stamina Sports at Sports Authority of Goa swimming pool, Ponda. The team was coached by Dayanand Patil. 

In the two-day competition which concluded on Saturday, Sagar Patil won a gold in 50 & 100m breaststroke, silver in 200m Individual Medley and 100m backstroke, and a bronze in 100m butterfly in Group 1 boys category. Rahul Patil won a gold in 100m backstroke, silver in 100m butterfly and bronze in 50m butterfly in Group 1 category boys. 

Kshitij Kalangutkar won a bronze in 100m freestyle in Group 2 category boys. Ripudaman Singh Shekhawat won a gold in 50m freestyle, silver medals in 100m freestyle, 50m backstroke and breaststroke and a bronze in 100m breaststroke, in Group 3 category boys.  

Zach Furtado won a silver in 50m butterfly and bronze in 50m freestyle in Group 3 category boys. Niranjani Borde won gold medals in 50 & 100m breaststroke, 200 Individual Medley and 100m butterfly and a silver medal in 100m backstroke in Group 3 category girls. She won the championship in her group category with 23 points. Aarohi Borde won a bronze in 50m freestyle and butterfly in Group 5 category girls.  

The swimmers train under coach Patil who has guided many swimmers to success at the national level with most of the swimmers training under him selected at National Swimming Competition organised by Swimming Federation of India at Rajkot,  Gujrat and National School Games held at Delhi. The team expressed their appreciation for VM Prabhudesai, Executive Director, Sports Authority of Goa and Monica Lobo, SAG official.
