The first Assolna -Velim – Cuncolim and Chinchinim (AVCC) an inter-school athletic championship for boys and girls will be held at Govt school ground, Cuncolim on November 30. The one-day championship is being organized by MB United Sports & Cultural Club, Murida-Cuncolim.
The championship will be organised in Under-8 50m, Under-10 100m and long jump, U-12 100m 200m and long jump; Under-14 100m, 200m, 400m, long jump, shot put and 4x100m relay; Under-16 100m, 200m, 400m, 800mts, long jump, shot put 4x100m relay.
Briefing the reporters, Oscar Martins, secretary of MB United Sports & Cultural Club and organising chairman, urged the concerned parents to support and encourage their wards to take up sports as a career.
Cuncolim Municipal Council chairperson Kiran Naik and Terence D’Costa, Police Inspector of Cuncolim Police station will grace the ocassion at 9 am while Steffi Cardozo , Assistant Project Officer,SAG, will be chief guest for the prize distribution.
