Close on the heels of a 7-year-old boy who was reported missing and was later found dead at a secluded place behind Kossambe building during the Saptah fair, yet another case of a missing person is reported at Vasco police station on the last day of the extended Saptah fair.

Twenty-one-year-old Ajay Sharma of Birhaun Kanpur, who was a helper and had accompanied one Saddam Hussain, who had set up a stall at Saptah, has gone missing since last four days.

According to Vasco PI Nilesh Rane, a missing report was  filed at the Vasco police station. “Investigations are on, the boy is major in age  and we are finding out if he has left for his home town. Since Saptah officially ended on August 12 and CCTV networks and  watch towers were removed, we could not explore CCTV footage as the boy  went missing on August 14”, PI Rane said.

“We have circulated his photograph across all police stations and important  locations”, PI Rane added.

According to sources, the 21-year-old youth had left the stall on August 14 evening inorder to use the toilet and had not been seen since then.

Saddam Hussain told The Goan that the group of four people had arrived from Uttar Pradesh on August 4. “He was with us for 10 days and he worked as a helper at our stall. He did not have a cellphone nor any money when he went missing. He said he was going to the toilet and did not return”, Hussain said.

“We had initially planned to leave earlier but stayed back after we got a two-day extension... it was unfortunate that he went missing”, Hussain said.

Divulging further details, Hussain said we filed a missing complaint on August 15. “We along with police have been searching for him all over... we even checked the CCTV footage of railway station but he was not

seen boarding any train”, he said.
