Goa Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) board in its meeting held on Tuesday has decided to drop First Information Reports filed against five Special Economic Zone (SEZ) promoters immediately.
The SEZ promoters have transferred the land allotted to them after getting back the money paid by them along with interest from the Goa government.
Speaking to media after the meeting, Industries Minister Vishwajit Rane said that SEZ land will be auctioned while 40 per cent land of the IDC will be given to Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board. The IDC Board also decided to go in for digitization of IDC records.
“Digitisation of IDC records have been discussed. This can be done through Goa Electronics Limited or by an independent agency”, said Rane.
It was also decided to make water harvesting compulsory for industries that will be allotted plots by IDC.
“In future, we have plans to make water harvesting compulsory for the industrial plots holders to whom plots have been allotted”, said Rane.
