Rossman Cruz Nagoa Sports Club knocked out Parish Youth, Nuvem 7-6 via sudden death to storm into the semifinals of Youth of Manora Cup inter village football tournament, organised by Youth Club of Manora, at Manora Ground, Raia on Thursday. The teams were tied
2-2 at half time.
The teams struggled in the initial period of the game but as the match progressed, Parish Youth took control and forged ahead in the 8th minute when Inacio Colaco slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot. Stung by that setback, Rossman Cruz regrouped and in the 23rd minute, Savio Fernandes punted the ball to the far corner of the net, 1-1.
Post resumption, both teams put up a vastly improved display and there were many thrills at either end. Wilson found the lead when he bulged the net in the 48th minute. Down by a goal, Parish Youth intensified their attacks and their last-ditch efforts bore fruit when D Fernandes equalised in the 52nd minute.
In the penalty shootout, Myron Fernandes, Savio Fernandes, H Fernandes, Loiola D’Silva and Francis Fernandes found the mark for Rossman Cruz Nagoa, while Inacio Colaco, D Fernandes, Shelter Colaco and Mark Borges were on target for Parish Youth.
