Murder at Morjim: Cops nab Kerala tourists for killing Bengaluru cabbie

Bengaluru police solved the mystery of taxi driver Uday Kumar from Benguluru whose body was found dumped in Morjim.   

According to the police, five persons from Kerala who hired his taxi eventually ended up murdering him and stealing his cab.  The Goa police will will register a murder case after receiving the DNA test on Monday.   

 As per information, the police found a decomposed body of a male on May 23 in Morjim.  Pernem Police registered a case of unnatural death and sent the body to GMC Bambolim for autopsy. 

Unable to contact him on his mobile, Uday’s family filed a missing  complaint at Rajan Kunte Police station at Bengaluru. 

The cops traced  his cellphone’s last known location, and upon investigation arrested one  Rahul P from Kerala who had hired his taxi to travel to Goa. 

Upon  arrest, the accused revealed the entire story –  Five tourists from Kerala had hired the deceased Uday Kumar to bring them to Goa in his Innova. Upon arrival, they checked into a guest house at Anjuna. 

On the same day, intending to steal his car, the suspects strangled Uday and dumped his body at Morjim before fleeing to Mumbai where they abandoned the vehicle and returned to Kerala. 

The suspect along with a relative of the deceased was brought to Goa by the Benguluru police to verify the facts and identify the body, informed DSP Gajanan Prabhudessai.
