Issues regarding illegal constructions, dumping of garbage in open spaces, street lighting, cleaning of drains and nullahs figured prominently in the discussions of the Succor gram sabha held on Sunday.

Sarpanch Sandeep Vazarkar welcomed the gathering while panchayat secretary Kishor Pagui read out the report of the gram sabha meeting held on 18th November.

Later discussions on developmental work begun and villagers brought to the notice of the panchayat that garbage was being dumped by some residents in the open spaces and sought punitive action. Locals also brought up the issue of illegal constructions which are on the rise in Succor.

To this, Pagui stated that the panchayat had already sent show cause notices to nine persons who had constructed sheds and commenced business activities illegally in the fields near Tisk-Succor.

“If satisfactory replies are not received within 7 days, the Panchayat will take necessary action against them,” said Pagui.

Pagui also presented the budget estimates amounting to Rs.4.38 crores prepared by the panchayat for the year 2019-20. In the budget estimates, opening balance as of April 1, 2019 was shown as Rs.75.63 lakhs and income by way of house tax, professional tax, garbage tax, etc was Rs.1.11 crores. Rs.93.75 lakhs was earned through construction licenses, hall and shop rents.

On the expenditure side, an amount of Rs 1.79 crore and Rs.71.30 lakhs has been earmarked for public works and administration respectively.
