The huge BJP advertisements pasted on various bus stops have finally been removed.

Taking cognizance of the report in The Goan, authorities concerned immediately removed the advertisements from the bus stops in Mormugao taluka.

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee Vice President Sankalp Amonkar has thanked

the returning officer and the flying squad for the timely

action.

According to sources, the banners and ads on bus stops in Mormugao taluka were cleared immediately on Sunday morning. Though the BJP had denied of being aware of any such permissions for advertisement and had claimed that they should not be held responsible for violations during the model code of conduct being enforced in the state ahead of upcoming LS elections.

Sources said that some advertisements had permissions and only the ones without permission had been removed from some locations.

The Goan had had highlighted the saffron party advertisements with a clear message to vote for the BJP along with a photo of PM Narendra Modi.  Amonkar had accused the government machinery and flying squad of overlooking model code of conduct violations.

“While the code of conduct was in force, large BJP advertisements have come up in public places and bus stops. No one can advertise party symbol during the code of conduct, but the BJP has managed to have such large advertisements,” Amonkar had said.

However when contacted a BJP leader had mantained and insisted that the BJP was not involved in pasting the advertisements.
