Albert Developers emerged Ilhas Zone champions in the Goa Football Association Second Division League following their 4-0 win in their last league fixture against Bhagwati Sports Club, at Taleigao ground, on Friday.
Albert Developers remained undefeated in the zonal league campaign and now have progressed to the play-offs. Albert Developers took the lead in the 18th minute through Jolitan Fernandes when he was fed by Venancio from the midfield and the former rounded off the keeper to make it 1-0.
Dominating the game, Albert Developers pressed their opponents in their own territory and soon doubled the account when Shankar headed in Joel’s well executed
corner kick.
Bhagwati SC conceded their third just before the breather when the provider of the second goal -- Joel, himself volleyed home to make it 3-0. Crossing over, Bhagwati SC did try to create chances but the rival midfield was too strong to break as they couldn’t enter the
final third.
Albert Developers scored their fourth when Venancio played a defence-splitting pass to Abu, who scored the team’s fourth goal and seal their passage to the play-offs.
