A day after the three Goa Forward Ministers and three Independents came under the G-6 banner to send a strong message to the two national parties that no political equation can work without their involvement, Goa Forward supremo and TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai on Sunday made it clear it will not be easy for the BJP and for that matter anyone to fit into Parrikar’s shoes.

The Goa Forward Chief went to the extent of sending a warning signal to the major partner and other players not to take the G-6 for granted, saying the group will tread a cautious path to ensure that they don’t fail Goa.

Sardesai told The Goan on Sunday that the G-6 will look carefully at various options, indicating that the group will wait for the BJP leadership to unveil its leader in a post-Parrikar scenario, before making its position clear on the new Chief Minister. Saying that everything will be fresh in a post-Parrikar scenario, Sardesai said “we will have to now look at the situation afresh. Everything is fresh now on the drawing board”.

He made it clear that it will not be easy for the BJP and for that matter anyone to fit into Parrikar’s shoes. “We are a group of six MLAs and will observe the situation very carefully so that we don’t fail Goa. We had lot of expectations from Manohar Parrikar when we brought him from the Defense Minister to lead the coalition government as the Chief Minister”, he said.

To a question, Sardesai said some of the aspirations and expectations have been met due to the proactive efforts of Parrikar. “There are other works and issues which are pending. These expectations have to be taken forward”, he said, adding “We will have to look carefully and look at all options.

To another question, the Goa Forward chief said the major coalition partner is yet to formally give them the options to choose form. “Their party leaders are coming down to Goa to discuss the situation and weigh various options. Let them unveil their options before us and we will take our decision”, he

said.

Sources in the know said that BJP Organising secretary Satish Dhond had a brief meeting with the Goa Forward Party chief Saturday night, wherein they are believed to have taken stock of the emerging political

situation.

Amit Shah speaks to Vijai

MARGAO  : In a day of political developments, BJP National President Amit Shah called up Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesai on Sunday morning with a message that the party will take him and the partners into confidence before working out a new alternative in a post-Parrikar
scenario.
Sources said Amit Shah telephonically spoke to Sardesai for a brief moment, but the BJP President is believed to have conveyed to the leader of the key alliance partner that the BJP will take the partners into confidence on working out a new formation.
Amit Shah’s call to the Goa Forward Chief comes against the stand taken by the group of six Goa Forward and Independent MLAs to the major political parties that no new equation can be worked out without taking the G-6 into
account.
Sources said the Goa Forward Chief is believed to have discussed with the BJP President whether the party has any plan in place to further break the Congress. Sardesai’s reported query to the BJP President assumes significance and comes against the backdrop of speculations that the BJP was eyeing former chief minister Digambar Kamat and other Congress MLAs to join the party.
