Damodar Higher Secondary School, Gudi-Paroda routed Deepvihar HSS, Headlad-Sada by 11-0 homes to emerge as champions of the U-19 inter Higher Secondary girls South District softball championship, organised by Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs.   

In the finals played at Fatorda practice ground, Damodar HSS eves dominated the entire match and scored homes through Cliffa Fernandes, Babhita Nistani, Pooja Yalwar, Najmeen Banu, Ilisiya Carvalho, Nikita Patil, Rutuja Mainkar, Larisa Oliviera and Siya Menezees. The winners were trained by physical education teachers, Laxman Prabhudesai and Jaikrishna RN Desai. They have qualified for the State finals. 

SS Angle HSS of Mashem defeated SVM’s Vivekanand HSS of Borim by 9-1 homes for the third place. In the boys final, Deepvihar HSS beat SS Angle HSS by 6-1 homes to win the South District title, while the third place was bagged by Damodar HSS of Gudi with a 9-8 win over SVM’s Vivekanand HSS of Borim.
