Anger over Pulwama attack continues to boil across State

Members of the Indian Medical Association descended on the streets of Margao on Sunday to protest against the killings of the CRPF personnel in the Pulwama terror act.   

 The doctors have also resolved to make monetary contribution which will be sent to the families of the slain Jawans.   

 The Fatorda unit of the BJP led by former two-time MLA Damu Naik also got down to protest against the killing of the CRPF personnel.   

 The IMA members comprising president Dr Sudhir Shet, secretary Dr Suraj Prabhudesai, Dr Babita Prabhudesai, Dr Eddie De Mello and others assembled at the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, to lit candles as a mark of respect to the slain jawans and express their solidarity with their families.   

 IMA President Dr Shet said the doctors have come down on the roads to pay their homage to the slain CRPF personnel and to send a strong message that the people of India are united. He said the IMA members will make a contribution which will be later sent to the members of the bereaved families.   

 Dr Babita Prabhudesai, who is also the Chairperson of the Margao Municipal Council, said the doctors have come out to condemn the dastardly killing of the CRPF personnel and to show their solidarity.   

 Meanwhile, members of the BJP unit of Fatorda led by former MLA Damu Naik also lit candles at the Ravindra Bhavan before heading to the Lord Damodar Linga. Damu said BJP workers have come out to protest and condemn the killings of the CRPF personnel in the terrorist attack. 


CANACONA: In a second candlelit march held in Chaudi town, hundreds marched on the streets shouting pro-nationalist and anti-Pakistan slogans on Sunday evening. The march organised by Canacona BJP Yuwa Sangh had participation from all sections, responding to the appeal by the BJP Canacona unit to come and join irrespective of political affiliations. The rally also had several prominent personalities including some present and past elected representatives.
