Sanquelim Municipal Council Chairman Dharmesh Saglani and Councillor Damodar Ghadi were among four persons arrested by Bicholim police on charges of obstructing the Bicholim mamletdar from demolishing an illegally extended portion of a shop at Sakhali.
According to reports, Bicholim Mamletdar Pravinjay Pandit along with a demolition team and a police team had gone to Sakhali to demolish an illegal extension of a shop belonging to Anand Verekar.
During the demolition drive, Saglani and Ghadi are reported to have requested authorities to give time to the shop owner, but their request was not considered.
