Calangute Association scored two second half goals to beat Velsao Sports Cultural Club 2-1 in a GFA Goa Professional League match at SAG Ground, Utorda on Monday.
Velsao dominated the first half but squandered many scoring chances. At the other hand, Calangute Association found a few scoring chances but were content to defend early in the game. Velsao broke the deadlock in the injury time of first half when Joseph Pereira slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot.
After conceding the late first half goal, Calangute Association clicked into higher gears in the second half and showed a lot of urgency in search of an equaliser.
However, they had to wait for the leveller till the 80th minute when striker Abdul Ahaj Fall beat the rival goalkeeper with a clinical finish. The equaliser turned the match on its head as the North Goans scored the winner five minutes later when Rohan Pednekar bulge the net.
