GKB Vision, RCC Bambolim dominate Goa Tower Run

GKB Vision and its sibling GKB Ophthalmics did a one-two sweep in the Corporate Team Race ahead of The Crown Hotel at the Goa Tower Run 2019, held on Sunday. 

The sixth edition of the unusual race up and down the staircases of five seven-storey buildings (totally 840 steps up and 840 steps down) at Panaji’s business hub, Patto Plaza, also saw RCC Bambolim bag the College Championship trophy, ahead of SS Dempo College of Commerce and Zantye College, Bicholim.   

The fastest time posted, however was a searing 8 minutes 11 seconds by team Tiger Boys in the Group category, ahead of Shiv Garjana (8:39) and defending champions Predators (8:52). Around 20 teams from corporates and 15 student teams were in the fray in this unique urban sport that is accessible to anybody who is fit enough to 

climb stairs.   

In the individual categories, lifeguard Aakash Agarwadekar was first in the Open Men category, Aditi Patil won in Open Women, Vishwanath Shetye in Veteran Men, Vishal Prasad in Student Men and Siddhi Pawar topped in Student Women.   

Prizes were awarded by Nikheel Brid, GM of The Crown. Apart from trophies and medals, winners got cash prizes, room nights at Acron Hospitality resorts, and gifts from Norbert’s Fitness 

Studio.
