It was an evening filled with the melodious tunes of the by gone era of music. The mega finals of Nave Marg Golden voices of Goa, an all Goa senior citizens singing competition organised by Lions club of Margao service trust witnessed mesmerising performances by the participants.
The singing competition organised in partnership with Lion Nutan Yaji in memory of late BR Yaji and Samraat club of Margao. The event held at Gomant Vidhya Niketan, Margao had three categories Marathi, Hindi & Konkani . In Hindi, Shabbir Mohamad bagged the first place followed by Mahesh Sardesai winning the second position. Mary Colaco was adjudged winner in the Konkani category and Antonio Soares bagged the second place. In the Marathi category, Rajiv Singbal won the first prize whereas Mangala Mohamad stood second.
The winners were given cash awards of Rs 10000 each while the runners up received Rs 5000 in each Category,
Sai Panandikar, Mithali Chawan and Mahesh Dhamasker judged the competition. Nutan Yaji gave away the prizes in the presence of Nave Marg director Dr Celso Fernandes and Samraat Club Margao president Damodar Borkar.
