Dicarpale Sports Club prevailed over Betalbatim Sporting Club 6-5 via tiebreaker to move into the semifinals of All Goa Bro Eulalio Vas memorial inter village football tournament, organised by Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda at Don Bosco Oratory ground on Tuesday.   

The teams showed attacking intent from the kick-off and Betalbatim Sporting had a good chance to surge ahead but Dylan Rodrigues muffed a sitter. Three minutes later, Alaric D’Cunha fumbled with his attempt in front of the rival goalmouth as another Betalbatim move failed to materialise.  

At the other end, Dicarpale slowly settled into the match and Joel Colaco’s power-packed shot found the side netting. Dicarpale continued to press forward and had a chance but Donald Rocha failed to beat the rival goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation. Dicarpale came the closest to scoring in the 20th minute, when Cliffton Rebello’s snap shot hit the crossbar.

It was the Betalbatim side who took the lead through Alaric D’Cunha when he beat the rival goalkeeper with a neat finish in the 26th minute. The goal was difference between the sides at half time. Crossing over, Dicarpale finally found the back of the nets when Stendly Miranda scored to give his team the equaliser in the 57th minute. Dicarpale Sports Club had the last laugh in the penalty shootout.
