During his tenure so far, Modi has worked more as ‘Pracharak’ of his party than the Prime Minister of the nation and now once again belts up in top gear to give performances in his inimitable style across the nation, seeking in return votes for his party in the forthcoming general elections. He keeps screeding to remind us about various schemes he and his troupe at the centre have bestowed on us that many of us may be unaware of. During the next 100 days his shows are lined up in as many as twenty states of the country. In addition there are two movies presently being screened that are suspect Government propaganda tools. One shows a feeble former Prime Minister contrasting with the present able one and the second is about the surgical strike carried out inside the enemy neighbour’s territory.

The first movie titled ‘The accidental Prime Minister’ shows Dr Man Mohan Singh’s days as the prime minister during UPA regime. Anupam Kher who in the past has gone on record saying he would feel proud even if someone called him Modi’s ‘chmacha’ and whose Modi admirer wife is a sitting MP of the ruling party from Chandigarh, essays the lead role. Though Dr Singh has been shown as personally honourable and upright man, there is an attempt to portray him as weak, feeble and pliant Prime Minister working under pressure of the ‘family’ and the party top shots. Kher’s caricaturing of Dr Singh by overdoing his mannerisms cannot be missed out. The second offering called ‘URI: The surgical strike’ is an out and out war film but the backdrop is Surgical strike our commandos carried out in Pakistani territory- the incident the present Government has exploited to the hilt as its achievement in campaigns after campaigns during the state elections. Predictably Paresh Rawal the sitting MP of BJP plays role of Ajit Doval, the National Security Adviser to PM, blue eyed boy of the regime, and that says it all. Point is both these movies are not ‘accidental’. They are intentional and timed around general elections. Both the movies are released at the same time and are being shown on two screens of the same multiplexes may not be coincidental either.

A third movie – a biopic of Modi is in the making that will complete the trilogy of BJP blitzkrieg. This one could be aptly titled as ‘Achche Din’ Prime Minister.

Michael Moore, the US documentary maker, is famously known for his stinging documentaries parodying US presidents and politicians. His documentary Fahrenheit 9/11 showed George W Bush in bad light for mishandling September 11 and wrong in its his decision to invade Iraq. The opposition can find a Moore here to make movie to show the ruling party the other side that is missed out in their trilogy. Here is skeletal initial script.

The movie can begin with shot of Modi’s office and the vacant desk as he is mostly away visiting foreign countries or electioneering. We have never seen his picture at the desk poring over files, sifting through the papers or signing some of them like some of his predecessors were seen doing. Demonetization and GST are highlights of his present tenure. He can be shown addressing the nation on demonetization followed by visuals of people standing in unending queues in front the ATM machines, at unearthly hours, awaiting their turn to withdraw cash and some collapsing on ground with fatigue. GST episode can show shutter downed cash strapped units in the Industrial estates and hoards of labourers, rendered jobless, returning to their villages in crammed buses and trains.

The famous within-the-country midnight surgical strike led by national security advisor Ajit Doval on CBI Headquarter to push out recalcitrant CBI director Alok Verma can make for good action scene.

Cow vigilante lynching suspected cow smugglers on roads in broad daylight, saffron fringe group attacking the police on duty and killing an officer or thrashing a couple suspecting Love Jehad angle, Jat agitators and Ram Rahim Insan’s followers looting, destroying and torching properties and the police fleeing to save their own lives all these have elements of actions of the villainous kind.

Modi’s rock shows during foreign visits can come handy to fill in for the customary song dance sequences.

The antics of the two top CBI officers accusing each other of graft and calling names , Nirmala Sitharaman clapping with glee like a school girl when colleague Arun Jaitley lampooned Rahul Gandhi during Rafale debate or Rahul embracing and embarrassing Modi and then winking can be comic relief.

The roadside Pakodewallahs, Chaiwallahs and taxi drivers will feature as employment generation of Modi brigade. Scenes of farmer suicides and farmers dumping their produce on roads on failing to get minimum support price can be used to strike an emotional chord.

As the movie ends a slide will show the aftermath as sum total of the plots.

*Industrial growth slows down to 0.5% with contraction in manufacturing and moderate growth in consumer durable and capital goods.

*Increased imports and reduced exports create trade deficit to the tune of $ 13bn.

*Fiscal deficit targeted @3.3 % of the GDP i.e Rs.6.24 lac crores for the full year attained in eight months, with scope to overshoot the level to 3.5% of GDP by March.

Actually much of the film footage is readily available, all one needs to do is to edit and arrange it in a sequential form.
