The meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the Goa Legislative Assembly will now meet on Monday
evening to discuss and decide the agenda for the three-day session called for January 29, 30, 31.
The BAC was originally slated to meet on Thursday but was put off at the eleventh hour without assigning any reasons.
Chaired by the Speaker Dr Pramod Sawant, the BAC comprises Leader of the House and Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, Opposition Leader Chandrakant Kavlekar, MGP’s Sudin Dhavalikar, Goa Forward Party’s Vijai Sardesai, Deputy Speaker Michael Lobo and NCP’s Churchill Alemao.
Monday’s BAC meet is expected to finalise the agenda for the three-day session, the first day of which is expected to be hogged as per convention by the Governor’s Address, it being the first session of the calendar year.
Meanwhile, the Congress on Friday said it would protest if Parrikar dodged
meeting legislators from the Opposition.
GPCC President Girish Chodankar said the Opposition would create a ruckus in the upcoming session of the Assembly if Parrikar
continues to skip meeting
legislators.
Chodankar said Parrikar is only meeting ruling party MLAs and does not
have the courtesy of even meeting the Opposition
Leader despite repeated official requests.
