Budding Goan actor Gaurav Pokle from the Konkani film Amizade was the chief guest for the third session of the Don Bosco Film Club held recently, which was attended by the Mass Communication students of Don Bosco College, Panaji.

‘Cinematic Panjim’, a video made by first year student Francis Quadros successfully captured the attention of the audience. Later a monologue was performed by FY student Shripad Kurtarkar which kept the audience entertained.

Actor Gaurish Pokle spoke on the topic, ‘Challenges faced by Goan actors in the field of acting.’ He said that people these days are away from their own roots and there is less appreciation of Konkani films. He added that Goans should take out time to watch and appreciate Konkani cinema. “It’s something we should take pride in and respect it,” he said. He shared a few tips for the young artistes present in the audiences who hope to pursue a career in acting. The programme concluded with a monologue performance and vote of thanks.
