PANAJI: Launching a drive against erring truck operators, the Mines Department officials on Wednesday detained around 26 trucks across Goa for non-installation of Global Positioning System (GPS).
The truck operators were also not in possession of mandatory transit passes.
The drive was launched under the supervision of assistant geologist Sudhir Mandrekar and technical assistant Sham Sawant. Around 15 trucks were detained from Porvorim, 5 each from Bicholim and Amona, and one truck at Farmagudi.
