FC Goa started 2019 with a handsome 8-1 win over Vasco SC in a friendly game here at the Bambolim Stadium.

Hugo Boumous was the destructor-in-chief as the Frenchman bagged himself a hat-trick before going off at the hour mark. New-signing Zaid Krouch along with Edu Bedia netted a brace whilst Coro found himself on the score-sheet as well.

The start, however, was a completely different story as Vasco opened the scoring in the 19th minute courtesy of a 20-yard thumper from Moises D’Sa. The Gaurs were back on level terms a couple of minutes later as Hugo turned his man in the box before slotting it past the keeper. That opened the floodgates as a double from Zaid Krouch and one from Coro made it 4 by the 43rd minute.

Hugo made it 5-1 a minute before the half-time whistle. The second half started off with Boumous completing his hat-trick within two minutes. EduBedia rounded of the goals within minutes of coming on as the Spaniard struck first through a free-kick followed by a precise finish into the bottom corner.
