Mallakhamb nationals begin at Ponda

National Mallakhamb Championship, organised by Goa Mallakhamb Association (GMA) in association with Mallakhamb Federation of India (MFI), commenced at Dayanand Bandodkar Sports Complex, Bandora-Ponda on Saturday. PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar inaugurated the event.
The championship will conclude on January 14. Around 19 States and two union territories will participate in the championship. Speaking during the inaururation function, Dhavalikar congratulated the players for taking part in the mallakhmab sports, which is a traditional sport of aerial gymnastics performed on a pole. “I feel very good that you are taking this culture ahead,” the minister said.
