The Hill Top party at Vagator is not only Goa’s most iconic party destination known across the world but also the one of the oldest parties, having started 35 years ago. It’s the place for the trance aficionados to be at! People from across the globe will convene in this neon palm grove for its legendary psychedelic parties. Hill Top, as its name suggests, is located atop the hill in Vagator and strategically located a distance away from residential neighbourhoods. Deserted by day, this open-air venue transforms to Goa’s most prime party destination on some evenings and a flea market on Friday afternoons. International DJs play the pulsing beats of Goa psy-trance to a mixed global crowd of Goa’s residential global urban nomads and old school hippies to student backpackers and international tourists. On the New Years eve and other occasional events, Hilltop hosts one of the best line up of DJ’s that will make you dance to their mesmerising tunes. It is more of an annual gathering for the psy-trance family across the globe. Proprietor Mr Steve D’souza takes pride in telling us about the party, he says, “Every year we have a huge crowd coming from different places, similarly we are expecting the same this year to be big and successful”. Speaking of its journey from 35 years to now, Steve says that nothing can beat the popularity of the party. The gates open from 6pm onwards and continues till the rest of the night!
