‘Free a child’s potential and you will transform him into the world’, are the words of wisdom by Maria Montessori. Indeed children of this era are very confident and adroit at any task given to them. Given a platform, there is no end to their prowess. Jnyan Vikas school, Porvorim has been working towards providing an holistic approach to learning and has always strived to nurture the dexterity of their students in every field. The school celebrated its annual day with gust and galore. The speaker of the Goa legislative assembly Dr Pramod Sawant, was present as the chief guest. The theme was ‘Yeh un dino ki baat hai’ ,that showcased the way life used to be before the onset of modern ameneties. Dr Pramod Sawant praised the efforts of the teaching fraternity and highlighted the crucial aspect of parents instilling the precious gems of good values among their wards.The main objective of this theme was to give children a sapor of the past.

The cultural event had a colourful display of Goan folk dances to the Indian freedom movement,from the vibrance of retro to the values of leading a fruitful life.There was also a play written by teacher Priti Chari, titled Zamana badal gaya ,that gave a flash of how basic appliances have evolved into sophisticated gadgets.The audience was enthralled by the astounding performance of the students and lauded their efforts.Children of this age need to learn that the way of life constantly advances but one can’t ignore the past that has a reflection on our present and future deeds.
