Asserting that there’s no change in the political scenario in the State post-Assembly polls in the five states, Goa Forward party supremo and TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai on Thursday said Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar may even hold a Cabinet meeting on Monday to clear many a

proposal.

“The political scenario in the State has not changed. We are firmly in the government headed by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar. I met Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today and wished him on his birthday. The Chief Minister is fine. He has even told me that he may hold a Cabinet meeting on Monday,” Sardesai told the meeting at Fatorda after laying the foundation stone for the Rs 1.67 crore underground sewerage line in his constituency.

Saying that results of the Assembly polls in the five states will not affect the politics in Goa, he, however, said the ruling dispensation should be in touch with the ground realities. “The government should fulfill the aspirations of the people of Goa,”

he added.

Saying that he is trying to usher in planned development of Fatorda, the TCP Minister said the Arlem-Ravindra Bhavan road should be complete in all respects before the next monsoons. “Today, we have laid the foundation stone for the sewerage works amounting to Rs 1.67 crore. The work will be completed before the completion of the four-lane road. The Arlem-Ravindra Bhavan stretch of the four-lane road has a provision for duct which would take care of the underground sewerage line, underground power cabling, water pipeline, optic fibre cable. Besides, we have drawn up a plan wherein there will be water pipeline on both sides of the four-lane road, which would avoid digging of roads,” he added.

Saying that he has embarked on a plan to implement planned development in his constituency, Sardesai said that Fatorda will lead the way for the planned development.

He said the authorities would soon install the CCTV cameras at all major junctions in Fatorda, saying the cameras will act as a deterrent against those who park vehicles at the junctions and at unauthorised places, resulting in bottle necks.
