Retro vibes at Don Bosco

Don Bosco College hosted its annual inter-collegiate event ‘Meteora 2K18’ on December 6 and 7. The theme of the event was ‘Lets drive to the seventies’. There were competitions in the cultural, literary, media and management arenas. Ten colleges enthusiastically participated in the event, which saw Parvatibai Chowgule College, Margao emerge winners and Institute of Hotel Management, Porvorim bag the second spot. Fashionista Samiksha Karmalkar Harji graced the inaugural function. Manager Fr Joaquim Lobo, Principal Cedric Silveira, Meteora Co-ordinators Twinkle Fernandes and Shantanu Arlekar were present on the occasion. The college students presented a graceful dance to the melodies of the seventies thus setting the atmosphere for the Retro theme.  

Events like Quiz, Treasure hunt, Photography, Just a Minute, Sell it to Win, Battle of the Bands, Third degree, Fashion show and Dance put to test the different skills of the participants in the closely fought competition. The fashion show was preceded by a show put up by Don Bosco College in which the show stoppers were the recently crowned Mr and Miss Goa Rahul Rametri and Oshin Colaco. Mr Meteora title was won by Damodar College and the crown of Miss Meteora went to Don Bosco College of Agriculture. The cast and crew of the Konkani film ‘FAKE’ released two music videos from their film just before the valedictory function. The vote of thanks was proposed by Meteora chairman Kedar Patil and GS Graham Alphonsus.
