A video of famed Pastor and healer Alph Lukau praying along with the family of ex-BJP MLA Vishnu Wagh in a congregation of thousands of faithful in South Africa went viral on social media on Thursday.

Though the sons of Vishnu and Aruna Wagh had gone to South Africa with their maternal aunt around two months ago when their father was seriously ill, and in the ICU of a Mumbai hospital the video only went viral on Thursday. Wagh returned to Goa on Wednesday, and has since been recovering little by little, informed a family member.

The video shows pastor Lukau calling the two boys, who were holding the picture of their father during a prayer cum healing session. When the pastor says the name ‘Vishnu’, a narrator is heard saying that the name was not written on the picture. The video also shows that the pastor seemingly guessed that Wagh had a role to play in politics, as well as the name of his wife ‘Aruna’, the approximate time of Wagh’s illness (he suffered from a stroke two years ago), the place where Wagh was hospitalised (Mumbai), and the fact that the family was not from Mumbai.

“Your father had a stroke. The lord is showing me that his heart rate is below 20%. He is very sick. The Lord is saying that there is water being accumulated in his lungs. And his organs are failing,” the pastor tells the boys infront of the thousands-strong congregation, as the boys simply answer in the affirmative.

The maternal aunt of the boys then tells the pastor that she believed in the power of Jesus and that this was the last door they were knocking on to help get Wagh out of his illness.

The pastor then requested the entire congregation to raise their hands and pray for Vishnu to heal.

When contacted, a person close to the family informed that the maternal aunt of the boys had taken them to South Africa as the boys really wanted their father back to the way he once was. The source also informed, “The family is grateful to the Catholic community for praying for the recovery of Wagh. They however feel it is unfortunate that people have taken to criticising them for turning to the Christian God Jesus in their time of dire need,” and added, “With God, there is no Christian, no Muslim, we are all children of the same god.”

Wagh has been told by doctors that he has to continue with physiotherapy. He still faces some health issues.
