When I entered bollywood and began my career, I was told that I am a good actor but I don’t have  a good face, ” said actor Anil Kapoor who was in Goa on the occasion of 49th IFFI. While interacting with his fans at the ‘Masterclass’ session, Mr India fame Anil Kapoor said, “At a very young age I had decided to become an actor. First opportunity came when my friend’s dad offered me the role of young Shashi Kapoor. Since then I have worked on myself and I am still learning about whatever new trend that comes in the industry.” He narrated the incident where he had failed the entrance exam to an institute in Pune and one should never be afraid to embrace failure. “An actor should be all-rounder. He should be well versed in dancing, singing, theatre too. One thing which is of paramount importance is that there is no short-cut to hard work. Luck or fate is important but hard work, dedication, preparation will make you achieve your aim. Acting is like ocean where you have to work on physicality, intelligence, music. I myself learned semi-classical singing when I was young.”The moderator of this event was Anil Kapoor’s his daughter Rhea Kapoor, a well known stylist and producer, who herself admitted that unlike her father at very young age she realised that she is not meant for acting. Mr Kapoor’s entry was totally ‘zakass’ where he loosened up on his signature song My name is Lakhan. “As an actor I just have this one lifetime to do and achieve something. I cant pass my legacy to my children like businessmen. So that’s why I look after myself. There are many actors who shine in the beginning and make their entry with a bang but later no one remembers them. My first film was a failure but I didn’t give up. Instead of short term sprints or being a superstar for a few years and then fading into wilderness I believe in marathon.”

Giving a word of advice to the youth he said, “Today’s generation is eager and enthusiastic, the same way I was when I was of their age. But later along with course of time I calmed down. One should be ready to fail, as it gives you the zeal to work more harder next time.”
