Day out for big imaginations

Colour pens, paint brushes, scissors had replaced the books, pens and rulers in the little hands. Bal Bhavan premises echoed the giggles and claps of the children gathered to celebrate Children’s day. More than 600 children from Bal Bhavan Kendras across the State gathered at the Panaji centre for the Children’s creative festival organised to mark to the day. Colourful tents were set up with mehendi artists, origami craft, body painting artists who participated in the festival.

The festival was inaugurated at the hands of former MLA of Panaji Siddharth Kunkolienkar in the presence of Bal Bhavan, Panaji chairperson Dr Sheetal Naik  and other members of the committee. Various other competitions like wealth out of waste, clay modelling, folk dance etc were organised on the occasion. Workshops on creative writing, drawing etc were also organised on the occasion.

The compound walls of Bal Bhavan also became the canvas for these young artists who used their imagination to portray the portray Goa of our ancestors.
