Goa Police ensure well-being of seniors living alone, click selfies

The Goa police are now regular visitors at the homes of senior citizens living alone even taking selfies with some of the old people they have visited.  
In a period of 13 days in August, the police visited around 294 houses of
senior citizens either staying alone or as a couple in North Goa.  
The cops from the 11 police stations in North Goa have been doing this job silently.
Senior citizens have welcomed this initiative and are welcoming the cops into their homes with open arms.
Although the visits were being done since 2014, the initiative police has gained momentum over the last few months.  
From August 6 to August 19, Goa police teams visited the homes of around 61 senior citizens in Panaji.
During the same period, Old Goa police visited 31 homes of senior citizens living alone in the area.
Anjuna Police visited 42 such homes in this coastal area, while Mapusa police visited around 48 homes.
The figures in other police station areas are as follows: Agassaim (25 houses), Pernem (10 houses), Porvorim (19 houses), Saligao (17 houses), Bicholim (16 houses), Valpoi (25 houses).
