Sound is created by vibration.  Some sounds in this universe are believed to be sacred and when uttered create frequencies that positively or negatively affect a human being or even a material thing. Explaining this principle, Mantravisharad Jayant Zarekar states, “From thousands of years, people from all the societies are having deep attraction for ‘mantras’, ‘yantras’ and ‘tantras’ and the science behind them. People have been using these sciences for well-being and good health. There are a large number of people who believe that by appropriately using the above sciences, one can achieve desired goals, success and prosperity and can fulfil all their wishes. These sciences are also very useful to achieve spiritual goals, enlightenment, peace and tuning with the supreme power.”

“The law of attraction says, ‘Like attracts Like’ and by repeated exposure of the particular mantra, it creates a particular frequency, which can attract the ‘like’, the desired results from the universe,” explains Zarekar - a hypnotherapist, a NLP practitioner and a horoscope reader in traditional as well as ‘Krishnamurti paddhdati’.

A writer who is deeply passionate about understanding and harnessing the potential of fellow human beings, Zarekar has graduated with psychology and has over 33 years of robust experience in practicing various mantras, tantras and yantras.

Always in close touch with great yogis, gurus, saints, Zarekar who received ‘diksha’ by various gurus, including Vamnarao Gulwani Maharaj and Shree Nikhileshwaranand Maharaj, has learnt kriya yoga, kundalini jagruti, dhyan yoga, mantra yoga, to name a few.

“It was from May 1, 2012 that we have initiated a well-structured one day course in ‘Mantra Shastra’ (the science of mantras). Recently we have started same workshop in divisions too. This programme has been structured to be relevant to the people from every area, like officers, executives, managers, students, spiritualists, sadhakas as well as professionals from ‘Vastu Shastra’, Kundali/Patrika (horoscope) and Adhyatma Shastra (spiritual sciences).

Born to pious parents, he too absorbed their spiritual way of life and was given diksha of Kundalini Jagruti at the age of 15 from Sadguru Gulavani Maharaj. He continued dhyan and sadhana.

Later on at 25, he came into contact with Yogiraj A L Bhagwat. At 35, Swami Nikhileshwaranand Maharaj offered him sadhana. With ups and downs in life, Zarekar’s journey was from a religious devotee to an atheist, to an intellectual and now a person with deep scientific temperament and spiritual seeker.

Narrating an incident from 1989, when his family went through a bad patch with untimely deaths, diseases, Zarekar explains how it turned him into an atheist. But in 1994 the track of his life changed after he got enlightened from his samadhistha sadguru who asked him to walk on a certain spiritual path. “This brought my derailed life again on the right path,” admits Zarekar.

However it saddens him that there are few takers for spiritual sciences. “Today’s world has become materialistic. Young generation is drifting away from our ancient spiritual sciences. With the invasion of English, languages like Sanskrit and Marathi are becoming outdated. It is a misconception that spirituality is something that is to be followed in the old age. And those who are well-versed in this knowledge are not sharing it in simple language with common people. This invaluable knowledge should be carried forwards as a legacy from one generation to the other, but we have failed to do that,” he laments.
