Explaining the reason for taking time off from his coaching duties to fly to Singapore in search of new equipment, coach-cum-father of the Coelho siblings, Donald said the children were worried whether they would stand a chance with the old equipment at their disposal.
“The children are mentally disturbed looking at all the other sailors with brand new equipment and fear whether their efforts will bear necessary fruit”, Donald, a three-time national champion in windsurfing said.
Donald said he had been training Dayne for the Asian Games for the last three years.
Taking a dig at officials Donald said, “It is their duty to look into the interest of the sport. I have proved that the best is done in interest of the country and not for my personal glory”.
