The annual inter-ward tie-breaker for the villagers of Majorda Parish was organised by the Majo0rda Parish Youth on the occasion of the feast of our Lady of Assumption and India’s Independence on August 15.
In the finals, Curilo
Bebeped and Marabhat
defeated Pereira and Carbota ward. The participation of all the thirteen wards made it a beautiful show.
The tie-breaker was followed by an exhibition match between the bachelors and the married men of Majorda. The former lifted the trophy and with a convincing 5-0 win.
Cyrilo Dias, a well known footballer from Majorda was the chief guest.
Having played for teams like Salgaocar and MRF and representing Goa at the national level in the past, Cyrilo earned a huge applause from the crowd.
The chief guest was accompanied by the Parish priest
of Majorda, Fr Ave Maria
Afonso; youth animator Fr William D’Souza and Fr
Nelson.
