Tanisha in final of nat ranking tournament

Goa’s Tanisha Crasto along with her partner Aditi Bhatt from Uttarakhand have reached the finals of the All-India sub-junior ranking badminton tournament which is underway at Hyderabad, Telengana. 

In girls U-17 doubles, Tanisha and Aditi knocked out Delhi’s third seeded pairing of Deepshikha Singh and Likhita Srivastava 21-13, 21-15 in the semi finals. Earlier, they had defeated Kerala’s pair of Treesa Jolly and Mehreen Riza 19-21, 21-13, 21-19 in the quarter finals. In the finals, they will face Shruti Mishra and Shailja Shukla from Uttar Pradesh who are seeded fifth. 

In U-17 mixed doubles event, Tanisha along with her partner Ishan Bhatnagar (Chhattisgarh) after their impressive gold medal win at the previous All-India ranking in Nagpur succumbed to a 21-18, 18-21, 15-21 loss to Siddhartha Mishra and Shruti Mishra from Uttar Pradesh in Round 3 of the main draw.   

The second leg Yonex Sunrise All-India sub-junior ranking badminton tournaments (U-15 and U-17) in Hyderabad forms the basis for selection of Indian squads for the Asian Junior Championship (U-15 and U-17) to be held in Myanmar in October. Tanisha and her partner will be aiming to retain their gold medal which they won in Nagpur to ensure their selection in the prestigious Asian Junior 

Championships.
