Congress MLAs agitate, demand discussion of Formalin Fish Issue; Speaker adjourns the house
The first day of Monsoon Session of Goa State Legislative Assembly began on a chaotic note on Thursday morning. Demanding strong and deep discussion on "Formalin Fish" issue, opposition leaders demanded discussion on ‘formalin fish’ issue at the beginning of the session.
Formalin Fish issue has created a situation of panic among people in the state and the question of safety in consuming any fish available in the market continues to terrorise the common man. Though Speaker Pramod Sawant stated that the issue can be discussed during the Calling Attention, Congress MLAs continued to hold a stand on discussing the "Formalin Fish" issue and claimed that other proceedings can be taken later.
Owing to the chaotic situation in the house, speaker Pramod Sawant had to adjourn the session four times. Post-lunch the chaotic situation continued with the Congress MLAs claiming 'dictatorship' in the house. Following this, the Speaker adjourns the house proceedings till Friday.
