Save Kesarval spring movement (SKSM ) agitated against a star hotel project near Kesarval Springs on Sunday evening. SKSM claimed that the proposed star hotel project was a big scam and not beneficial for the villagers as well as Goans at large. Convenor of SKSM John D’Silva, ZP member Anton Vaz, Pobre Vaz, Quelossim Dy Sarpanch Sebastian Serrao, Luciano Xavier, Sumeet Kalangutkar, Levino Xavier, Vincent
Pereira , Rui Araujo, XevierD’Silva and Panch Synthia D’Silva were some of
the speakers during the agitation.
The speakers said that they had not got the support from MLA Alina Saldanha and they were not happy with the discussion held with GTDC Chairman Nilesh Cabral.
The speakers said that the land belonged to the Communidade and that any land acquired by the GTDC for the beautification of the springs should not give a back door entry to a hotel project in the name of beautification.SKSM members said that the hotel project at the site could cause massive pollution across the medicinal spring, the fields in the area and the fish of the rivers where the spring water entered.
SKSM members also said that they would not allow the project in the village at the site and would come on the roads if required to oppose the project by all means.
