One can call him a builder, one who constructs buildings and also helps people building and shaping their bodies at his gym in Margao. After his busy schedule throughout the day, rushing from one site to another across Goa, Sanjay Patil spends his evenings relaxing his mind and muscles at Maxsan.

“I do workouts in the late evenings once the day’s work is over. Keeping fit in this stressful life is very important and charges every cell in our body. Having learnt this from my late father, a known wrestler in his times, and having experienced the benefits of exercises, I do not miss my daily workouts,” shares Sanjay, proprietor, Maxsan Fitness Hub, Margao.

Son of a national champion wrestler C C Patil who represented Karnataka and Maharashtra, Sanjay put his idea of fitness into practice by kick starting his own gym on April 1, 2007 with a partner.

A builder and a developer by profession since 1991, what made him open a gym? Sanjay shares the reason, “Opening a gym where one can exercise and keep fit was a long cherished dream of me and my late father, C C Patil who was an ardent lover of sports and a sportsperson himself. We finally managed to make the dream come true in 2007. A wrestling champion, my father always had difficulties in finding a perfect place for exercises he needed to keep fit. Fitness was not a fad or a trend, back in those days and people had not awakened to this concept. There were no good fitness centres with proper gym facilities in Goa in his days and he used to miss it. We could only manage to open up our own gym, when he was in his early seventies. But he enjoyed it until he lived and passed away last year at a ripe age of 82,” states Sanjay whose father was in construction business in Goa since 1968.

Highlighting that he tried to focus on every aspect of being fit and thus follows a ‘health for all’ fitness mantra while sketching schedules and packages for training, Sanjay points out that athletes, body builders who need special exercises for lower body workouts are happy to join him. The young girls participating in beauty pageants and beauty contests come to tone their bodies.

Also doctors, professionals, politicians do their workouts at Maxsan as the right form of exercises are offered here with the help of best biomechanical machines. “We offer training as well as advice and monitor our clients when they do their workouts, giving personal attention.
