MARGAO: Betalbatim Sporting Club edged past Fr Agnel Youth Club, Paroda 2-1 to enter the quarterfinal of 47th All Goa Custodio Memorial inter-village football tournament organized by Raia Sporting Club at Panchayat Ground, Raia on Saturday.
Fr Agnel opened the scoring in the 19th minute through Sezvin Fernandes. Stung by the setback, Betalbatim SC regrouped quickly and two minutes later, equalised through striker Klusner Pereira.
In the 27th minute, Manushan Fernandes struck the match winner for Betalbatim Sporting Club.
Betalbatim SC will now meet the winners of Calangute Association and Parish Youth of Nuvem in the quarter-final on July 15.
