Fatorda Police station in-charge, PI Navlesh Desai said the police has zeroed in on a lecturer, on whose SIM card, the video was reportedly uploaded after being doctored as showing that the TCP minister was insulting the modesty of a fish vendor.

PI Navlesh said when the police confronted the lecturer from Borim to explain how the video was uploaded from his cell phone, he is alleged to have stated that his SIM card was being used by a banker, hailing from Raia, but is a native from Ponda taluka. He said it has also transpired that a Curchorem-Cacora based lawyer was also in the know about the uploading of the video.

“The Fatorda police have summoned the banker and the lawyer as part of a preliminary inquiry into the episode. We have not registered any FIR in the case for the moment as investigations are underway. After the police interrogate the trio, the police will take a further call in the case”, PI Navlesh said.

Kamat had lodged a complaint with the Cyber cell as well as the Fatorda police to investigate into his complaint stating that unscrupulous elements had doctored the video wherein the TCP Minister was being shown insulting the modesty of a fisherwoman.
