St Anthony’s SC Marna proved to be too good for Milagres SC 7-2 to enter the quarter-finals of the Vagator Soccer 2018 UK Cup tournament organised by Vagator PYSC, at Vagator Ozran grounds, here on Wednesday.
Marna colts were all over the rival territory and scored five goals in the first session of play. The main architect for Marna was Sherwin Lobo who opened the account in the 21st minute, who getting hold of a pass from Dalesh Pednekar scored past the advancing Milagres keeper Milagres Viegas.
Just three minutes later, Marna doubled their lead through Siddhant Shirodkar off a pass from Shubham. Siddhant netted his brace in the 27th minute from outside the penalty box to make it 3-0.
Marna further added more goals in the 31st minute and 35th minute through Dalesh Pednekar and Vipul Pednekar. On crossing over, Milagres looked a transformed unit as they pulled two goals back through Nayan Vinodkar and Stephen Martins.
Marna’s hunger for goals did not end there as they hammered two more goals before the end of the match through the boots of Joel Fernandes and Alrich Fernandes. Sherwin Lobo of Marna was named man-of-the match.
