San Jose de Areal registered a 6-4 win via tiebreaker over PVC Parra Sports Club, in the inaugural match of the Vagator Soccer 2018 (UK Cup), organised by Vagator PYSC, played at Vagator-Ozran grounds on Saturday. At the end of the regulation time, the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

It was Parra colts that scored the first goal through Sankesh Harmalkar who guided the ball into the rival goal off a Faizal Sheikh free kick, 1-0. It did not take long for Areal colts to level terms as Bersal Vaz scored from the penalty spot, after a strike from Aggio Antao was handled by Parra’s Mathias Pacheco inside the danger zone, 1-1.

A couple of minutes before the breather and Areal took the lead when Parra keeper Ritesh blocked a strike from Raymon to find the ball roll to Aslon, who tapped the ball home, 2-1. On crossing over, the Areal outfit dominated and had two good attempts at the Parra goal but Aslon Oliveira’s free kick and Raymon’s strike rebounded off the post.

When it looked like the visitors had won the match, in the closing stages, Faizal Sheikh scored a gem of a goal through a header off a corner from Warren. However in the penalty shootout, Areal won the match with a 4-2 margin.
