Holders United Club of Nerul lifted the Shanti Morada Soccer Cup 2018, organised by Adarsh Yuvak Sangh, with a convincing 2-0 win over Football Club of Siolim, played at Saligao grounds, here

on Sunday.

The winners scored both the goals in the second session of play. The first session was mostly fought on an equal footing though Nerul’s Sanket Jotkar had a chance to put his team ahead

from close.

On resumption of play, finally in the 50th minute, Dylan Britto put his team ahead as he got hold of a pass from Russel Fernandes and scored with an adroit

placement,1-0.

Down by a goal, Siolim lads tried hard to level the terms but the last line of defence along with the keeper of Nerul did not crack under pressure. In the 60th minute, Dylan netted his brace with a superb solo effort, 2-0.

Chief guest Jayesh Salgaokar, Minister for Housing; guest of honour Tarun Puri and sponsor of the tournament, Rajat Verma, gave away the prizes. Eknath Oraskar, president of Adarsh Yuvak Sangh welcomed the
