Panjim Gymkhana (PG) defeated Bogda Cricket Club by seven wickets to emerge champions of the Goa Cricket Association’s ‘B’ Division tournament, at Porvorim on Wednesday.
Electing to bat first, Bogda CC were all out for 148 runs in 31.4 overs. Sahil Naik (41), Damodar Redkar (31) and Maruti Huggi (23) made important contributions with the bat. In bowling, Panjim Gymkhana’s Salil Agharkar (4/22) and Heramb Parab (3/28) did the maximum damage to their rivals.
In reply, Panjim Gymkhana achieved the victory target in the 26th over with 7 wickets in hand. Vidyadhar Kamat scored an unbeaten 49 to guide his side to victory after Rajat Shet (35) and Vishwajeet Fadte (36) had made a solid start for PG. Bogda’s Siva Natatpath (2-17) and Dilip Tirodkar (1-31) were the
wicket-takers.
