Baina school wins ‘Red Bull Tashan’ qualifier

The first-ever Western India edition of Red Bull Tashan, a competitive kabaddi tournament for players at college and club level, successfully kick-started with the qualifiers in Goa today.  Held on a knock-out basis at the Campal indoor stadium, 14 teams participated to compete at the Goa qualifier of the tournament. 

The qualifier saw colleges like Government Higher Secondary Baina, Vivekanand HSS Bali, Ponda Government HSS, Perne Government HSS, Bicholim Vivekanand HSS, Vidya Prsasarak Mandal among others compete.

Government Higher Secondary,  Baina, Vasco triumphedat the Goa qualifiers by beating Vivekanand HSS Bali in the final round to further compete with the winning teams of the upcoming Sangli and Pune qualifiers at the finals at HotFut, Mundhwa, Pune on May 13.

Organised in association with the Pro Kabaddi League franchise Puneri Paltan, the tournament aims to widen the reach and further develop the ancient and iconic Indian sport at a grass-root level in the country. The winners will get the glorious opportunity to train with the Puneri Paltan team at their home stadium before the 6th season of Pro Kabaddi League kicks off in October.

Result:  Government Higher Secondary,  Baina, Vasco beat Vivekanand HSS, Bali 35-33.
